Dentures
What is a Denture?
Dentures are custom-made, removable appliances designed to replace missing teeth and restore both the appearance and function of your smile. They are carefully crafted to fit comfortably over your gums, helping you to eat, speak and smile with confidence.

Types of Dentures
- Partial dentures – replace several missing teeth and are supported by your remaining natural teeth.
- Complete dentures – replace all the teeth in the upper and/or lower jaw.
- Overdentures – complete dentures that sit over the root stumps of some of your remaining natural teeth.
- Implant-retained dentures – complete dentures that are held in place by implants.
- Immediate dentures – fitted immediately after a tooth extraction so you’re never left with a gap in your smile.
We will help you choose the most suitable option based on your oral health, preferences and lifestyle.
Denture Materials
- Cobalt chrome dentures
- Acrylic dentures
We will explain the benefits of each to help you choose the best option for you.

How Dentures Work
Dentures sit securely on the gums and are designed to distribute biting forces evenly. Over time, you will adapt to wearing them, allowing you to eat and speak more comfortably.

Every denture is individually designed using detailed impressions and measurements to ensure the best possible fit, comfort and appearance for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will dentures feel comfortable?
Modern dentures are designed for improved comfort, though there will be an adjustment period. Many patients find cobalt chrome dentures more comfortable as they are less bulky and have a tighter fit.
Will they look natural?
Our dentures are carefully designed to look as natural as possible. We take time choosing a tooth shade and mould with you to produce a denture that’s right for you.
How long do dentures last?
With appropriate care, many dentures last upwards of 10 years. However, the remaining bone within your jaws will change with time, which can make dentures loose, so they will need adjustments or replacement as your mouth changes.
